The moment that we all have been waiting for finally comes to the end, The Oscar. I have to admit that I first drew to the award show just only because of an extravaganza fashion parade by actors and actresses. But since I've been watching tons of movie, now my vision change.
Some of us might know the result already so I just gonna recall it briefly.
Best Picture: The Hurt Locker
Best Director: “The Hurt Locker” Kathryn Bigelow
Best Actor: Jeff Bridges in “Crazy Heart”
Best Actress: Sandra Bullock in “The Blind Side”
Animated Feature Film: “Up” Pete Docter
Unfortunately, we don't have a chance to see "Crazy Heart", "Precious", "The Blind Side", "An Education", "Nine", and etc. yet in Bangkok but I'm sure they all are incredible being nominee and I wish to see it someday. I guess since those movie that I mention might not make much money here so they decide not to show it in the cinema (then don't blame the piracy DVD) or it might come later (just never know, wishing it will come!).
Some people disagree with the Best Picture, "The Hurt Locker", but we have a different taste of movie as well as Oscar. Like I said before; since I've been watching a lots of movie lately, it truly expand my vision. I seem to see movies in every different angle and I have to say, I enjoy watching movie the way I never did before. It needs some good number of potential to make a good movie. Number of brave, inspired, talented and determine to create a quality movie. Both "The Hurt Locker" and "Avatar" is the best picture thought "The Hurt Locker" might fail to entertain viewer while "Avatar" keep collecting the point and that's why some people doesn't fond of this action war drama also never thought that it gonna win. To me, "Avatar" is an appetizer. Their various choice and taste make me wanna try one after another and if I like it then I gonna keep eating it again and again. While "The Hurt Locker" is like a gigantic piece of steak. Though how juicy and heavenly it is, it will stay in my stomach for an age but once in a while I will love to have it again. So I guess this year Oscar like to have a piece of steak too.
This year ceremony, the one thing that I'm gonna mention is the glittering stunning stage and the way they glorified all actors and actress nominees before presenting the award. But for the 2 hosts; Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin, I wasn't impressed.
Can't wait for the next year and we will see you again, Oscar.
