"Agora"...Is it necessary?

After been waiting for a long time to see this movie, since it started showing at Lido. Unfortunately the cinema has to close, temporary, due to the red so I found it also show at Emporium and couldn't wait for a second to get tickets.

"Agora", A historical drama set in Roman Egypt, concerning a slave who turns to the rising tide of Christianity in the hopes of pursuing freedom while also falling in love with his master, the famous female philosophy professor and atheist Hypatia of Alexandria. It's also involve religion and a bit of astronomy.

I wasn't sure if it's because of the movie or because of the fact which concealed in the movie which made me cried in the end. The movie sets on 2 topics; Religion and philosopher also astronomer, Hypatia. The fight between 2 religions, those who believes in Zeus as God and those who believes in Jesus as God and those who believes in Abraham, always unnecessary cruel. I don't want to discuss about religion as I don't want to provoke a sensitive issue. But what I've seen in the movie, it's not acceptable. The holocaust, violence and blood are too much for me to handle. I remember when I saw "The Passion of the Christ" I cried constantly through the entire movie. I don't believe if there's nothing we can compromise. Why can't we live in the same world without any conflict? Why do we have to make life more complicated? Why do we have to live in fear just because of what we believe? Is it necessary?

Hypatia, a great philosopher who also has a passion about the universe, earth and their orbit. Her passion of knowledge has no limit and her strong mind to share the opinion touched me. Unfortunately, one guy are offended and accuse her of being atheist, a witch. Her royal slave take her life so that she won't be suffered from stoning to dead. But it crashed my heart to see those few big filthy guys stone her dead naked body until it's wrecked, I cried. Is it necessary?

I feel relate to that story in some way. I'm not sure if it's been written some where (as they mention in the movie) about not listening to woman or woman shouldn't be educated or woman doesn't have the right to speak out but that all is so wrong. In my previous relationship, I was a woman who didn't have the right to share opinions. Every time when I said something, it's blown away just like an air. Nothing so important for them to listen as they're the boss and they do whatever they want. Good luck for them now because I can't be in relationship where I don't have a freedom of speech. I've seen and heard a lot of stories when women are abused by their man whether husband or boyfriend. I don't understand what's on their twisted mind!

We are in the free world now. We have the right of speech whether man or woman. We don't need violence to solve every problem. That is completely unnecessary...
