"Thank you for smoking"....smoking kills, who cares...

"Thank you for smoking" Satirical comedy follows the machinations of Big Tobacco's chief spokesman, Nick Naylor, who spins on behalf of cigarettes while trying to remain a role model for his twelve-year-old son.

The movie's launched since 2005 but I still haven't seen it yet. The reason I'm writing a blog without seeing a movie is I recently have a question 'why'. Why you smoke? What's the reason? My friends smoke, my dad smokes and I, used to. You probably have never seen me smoke before that's because I smoked just for fun, not as a habit. How often? Once a year, means a couple of cigarettes a year. That's how I define my smoking. I used to smoked when I felt like I was almost drunk but since I quit drinking, smoking will never occur again.

My dad smokes because his friends does. Some of my friends has also the same answer, because friends smoke or parent smokes. Next question will be 'what's for'. If you don't smoke then you can't get into the group? If you don't smoke, your friend will hate you? If you don't smoke, you won't look cool? Seriously boys and girls, no matter how good looking or gorgeous you are, you don't look cool to me when you smoke and it wasn't tasty kissing smoker. I know I have some friends who smokes, I have no problem with them leaving the table during dinner or while we were at the club just because they need to smoke but one of my friend might "Thank God, you come or else I have to be left alone while they out for cigarettes". They are adult, it's their own life. But I'm talking now just because I don't see any useful or necessary of smoking. 'Smoking kills', so what. Life is short anyway. There's no campaign which can possibly and seriously resist the charm of cigarette to smokers. But imagine this, the price of cigarette multiple by how often you buy in a year = Baht. That amount of money can possibly buy anything else? Ok, you might not care. You earn it every penny so you have the right to do anything you want, so true.

"Nicotine, the primary psychoactive chemical in cigarettes, is addictive. Cigarette use by pregnant women has also been shown to cause birth defects (which include mental and physical disability). On average, each cigarette smoked shortens lifespan by 11 minutes and half of smokers die early of tobacco-related disease and lose, on average, 14 years of life." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cigarette

Now it prohibits to smoke inside any buildings, restaurants, clubs, etc. So they have the smoking area for all the smoker to enjoy the party which looks like a gas room (at the airport) but luckily they just don't die right away. Yesterday I walked through the open area which joining 2 building together, that's the smoking lounge. They seems to be happy pumping up those delicious fume into their lungs while my mom who wasn't so pleasure to walk past didn't like it at all. Sorry mom, it's a short cut and it's also a lunch time.

Guys, yes I was annoyed of those habit. You can be mad at me of saying so but I am your friend and I love you. You can keep on smoking, I don't mind. It's your life. And you can also quit, I don't mind either. You are a smart grown up, you can do whatever you like. Smoking or not has nothing to do with me so why the hell am I complaining?
